The ingredient you definitely don’t want to skimp on is the garlic! Three large cloves are minced and mixed into the batter and round out the flavor in the best way.

Herb & Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 3 clove garlic, minced
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 additional tablespoon olive oil, for top
- ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and thoroughly grease a 9x5-inch bread pan.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- In another large bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, and garlic. Whisk until smooth.
- Slowly mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Add olive oil and fresh herbs until evenly distributed.
- Transfer batter to the prepared bread pan. Drizzle 1 tablespoon olive oil over the top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 42-45 minutes or until bread is set through the middle and top is golden brown.
- Allow bread to cool for 25 minutes before slicing.
