This story should inspire all of us to always read the fine print. The woman that you are about to meet did not and she has learned the hard way. As a result of her unwillingness to do so, she has become the face of many stock photo-based advertisement campaigns.

When she got headshots done some years ago, she did not think her decision through. They offered her a discount on the photos, as long as she was willing to let them use the photos as they pleased. This seemingly inconsequential decision has led to some interesting consequences. Her pictures have been used in a variety of ways.
“Thinking about that one time I didn’t read the fine print on my headshots contract and my photographer sold my pics to stock photo sites,” the video text reads.
First, she noticed that a poorly edited version of one of her photos was used on the cover of a book that was called “His Big, Childhood Sweetheart.” From there, her image was also utilized in an article that turned her into the Mona Lisa.
Author photos, job recruiting materials, website stock photos, she has ended up everywhere. Of course, the viewers at home could not resist teasing her about the situation. For what it is worth, she seems to have a decent sense of humor about the whole thing.
“I’m sorry but I would be sending the cover to everyone telling them I made it,” said one viewer. “Jail. Immediately. Cause why did they do you like that,” said another.
It’s too funny for anyone to be truly mad over, though. We agree with the people who would have been telling the world that they made it. We would have sent that one book cover to everyone we know and defied them not to call us an author.

Sure, that discount probably sounded good in the moment but there is a good chance that she would do it all over again if she could. It’s the sort of thing that will make people laugh, it is not worth being embarrassed over.
