Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

It’s getting to that time of the year! Christmas is around the corner and that means that it’s time to break out our favorite holiday films. And this year, you can enjoy Elf while also noshing on some yummy cereal that was inspired by the movie itself.

General Mills has released the good news that they’ll be making a new limited-edition cereal that is inspired by the movie’s main character, Buddy. The packaging even comes with his image, along with those of his friends, Arctic Puffin and Mr. Narwhal. The cereal will have the taste of real maple syrup. It’s a corn puff which will also have green and red marshmallows in it.

A General Mills representative shared with PEOPLE that the cereal has already started to make its way into super markets, so you may want to move fast before they are sold out. And given that the holiday season is still a little way away, you might find yourself stocking up on more than just one box.

The movie Elf might have come out ages ago in 2003, but it has remained a very popular holiday movie with many people saying that it’s one of their must-watch movies of the season. Audiences fell in love with his journey from the North Pole down to New York City to reunite with his long-lost family.

The sweet premise of the movie has transitioned to a sweet cereal that we’re all excited to try. The cereal comes in two different sizes: There is a regular-sized box that sells for $2.50, and there is also the family-sized cereal box for only $3.99.

While we might be excited about the new “Elf” cereal, this isn’t the only good news coming out of General Mills. They also announced that they’re bringing back their Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch. It tastes just like Christmas. And who wouldn’t want that for breakfast? To be honest, these two cereals sound just like the types of cereals that we all need right now. What do you think about an “Elf”-themed holiday cereal? Let us know!
