Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Sometimes we don’t realize we’re doing something embarrassing until it’s too late. For one woman named Jill, that was apparently giving her neighbors a free show every time she showered.

Jill lives with her family in a home in Knoxville, Tennessee. Over the past two years, they’ve been like any other regular family. However, there was one day when Jill made a discovery about the frosted window in the bathroom.

Like many homes, Jill’s bathroom window is covered by frosted glass. She assumed that this meant it was literally covered. However, according to TODAY, one day when she was outside grabbing the mail, she noticed that the bathroom window was pretty bright, and to her horror, she wondered if it was possible to still see inside. That is when she got her husband’s help on testing out her theory.

She asked him to go upstairs and pretend to shower, and to her surprise, it looked like her neighbors could see whenever they took a shower!

While she couldn’t see him, she could certainly see his silhouette, and that’s when she saw just how committed he was to the role of acting like he was showering. He really went for it that it was so funny, Jill just had to get out her phone and start recording.

As per TODAY, she shared about the frosted window fiasco saying, “Everyone was like paranoid for their own home. So I guess the moral of the story is if you thought you’re private in your bathroom with your privacy glass or frosted glass, think again!”

While she might have learned the hard way that her silhouette can be seen by the whole neighborhood, something good did come out of it: her husband’s “showering” video went viral! They went from about 30 followers to around 20K after the video received close to 19 million views!

While Jill assumed their video went viral because of her husband’s “acting abilities,” it was actually because of the frosted glass window – apparently, many other people share that same fear of being seen while showering. Either way, it was a lesson learned for Jill, who has now placed a temporary cover on her bathroom window while she and her husband figure out how to replace the frosted glass window.

Watch her husband commit to his fake showering performance in the video below:
