Advertising on TV has given us some very iconic jingles throughout the years. Throughout the different generations, there is usually at least one or two commercial jingles that stand out to its generational members.

I’m sure many of us might remember hearing that iconic slogan, “The best part of wakin’ up, is Folgers in your cup.” Oh, yeah, you probably recognize it.

You might even be someone who has fallen victim to the catchy tune’s advertising and purchased the coffee brand. Whether you have bought Folgers or not, you certainly know their classic jingle.

For years, it has been an integral part of the company and its advertising. But after all this time, Folgers has decided to let go of its iconic tune. Of course, the price wasn’t cheap.

The tune was listed on the Royalty Exchange, where people could bid on who would become the next owner of the tune. The highest bidder could look forward to officially receiving any future royalties brought in by the coffee company’s well-known tune. This means everything from live performances to commercial use, and more.

In the past, the jingle has been quite profitable having earned $11,747 USD YTD and $38,164 USD all since 2011. That sounds like quite the pretty penny.

The bidding officially ended on the 1st of October, which ironically turned out to be National Coffee Day. The winning bid was for $90,500. Wow!
