Many of us appreciate going out for a drink. It doesn’t have to be an adult beverage but sometimes, it’s just one of those special coffee drinks it really gets our day started.

We may get such a drink at Dunkin’ Donuts on occasion, but there is something you need to be aware of. If you happen to be one of those individuals that love the signature latte at Dunkin’, you are allegedly throwing your money away.

There has been a trend on TikTok recently where employees are asked to give away some secrets about the company they work for. That is when Louise, a college student that claims to have worked at Dunkin’ Donuts until she was fired in 2020, stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park.

She starts out by saying: “First off, the Signature Lattes are a scam.”

She then goes on to discuss why she doesn’t appreciate the lattes and it has a lot to do with the fact that, in her opinion, they are ripping you off.

She said: “They’re charging you an extra $0.89 or some bulls**t to add whipped cream and little sprinkles.”

She also went on to say that you can ask for a normal latte, ask them to put on some whipped cream and sprinkles, and leave off the word signature. It seems as if this may just work.

Of course, when you do the math, you really are saving less than a quarter on your drink but then again, if you can get the same thing for less, go for it!

Louise went on to say that the signature latte isn’t a good deal but if you go in right before they close, you may just find a bargain or two. This includes the fact that they throw out doughnuts every night.

She also talked about how most people don’t realize what they are getting into when they asked for something to be toasted. She said that she was shown how to clean the filter in the toaster but it was pretty gross because nobody seemed to have cleaned it before her.

She also said that her Dunkin’ Donuts was labeled as being green, but they threw everything in the trash anyway. She said: “Sorry. We didn’t recycle.”

I guess the term, “let the buyer beware” counts for your morning cup of coffee and doughnut as well.
