Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

This is such an easy mistake to make and our heart certainly goes out to this poor woman. When she left out a box of donuts on accident before taking off to go on vacation, she never could have expected what would end up happening next.

Diane (who goes by the name @invasian_ on TikTok) was taught a very hard lesson when she made this error in judgment.

As you can imagine, there are a number of different issues that can come up when foods like these are left out for particularly long periods of time. Can you believe that this infestation only needed two days to take place, though?

This video is enough to make anyone reconsider their travel plans, that is for sure. Diane went through this nightmare, so hopefully others will not have to.

Her home now belonged to an ant colony, which stopped by to scarf down the donuts. The aroma of these donuts was simply too much for them to resist. The ants lined her entire home and of course, the line led all the way to the box of donuts that was left sitting on her counter. When the video begins, it is hard to tell what is wrong initially.

Once she takes a few steps forward, the issue becomes far more noticeable. The ants are making their way from one end of the living room to the other, without so much as a care in the world. “We just came back from our trip guys, and look what’s going on here,” she says. “Oh my gosh, they’re everywhere.”

The procession of ants even breaks apart into separate lines. Eventually, she points the camera to the door where the ants arrived from. “I don’t even want to know where that door leads to,” she said. “It might be like a huge super ant in there.” As soon as she makes her way into the kitchen, the ants’ enjoyment of the donuts becomes more obvious.

“As awful as it is, it’s truly amazing how they work together,” said one viewer. “Ending thoughts, prayers, wine, and the exterminator guy,” offered another. It is easy to see that we need to be on the lookout for these types of infestations going forward because humans are not the only ones who enjoy sweets.
