How To De-Ice Your Windshield In Two Seconds Flat

There are a number of problems that you may experience when you live in a cold part of the world. Perhaps the one that you face almost every morning, however, is a frozen windshield.

It can be difficult to deal with this situation, especially when you are running behind and need to get things thawed out quickly.

Fortunately, social media is there to save the day and there is at least one hack that has racked up millions of views because it is so brilliant.

A TikTok user shared this video on the social platform, revealing his two-second trick to save time when the windshield is frozen.

Quite simply, you place a piece of cardboard over the windshield the night before and in the morning, you pull it off and reveal the clear windshield underneath.

Walton, who posted the video on TikTok simply addressed his audience by saying, “Thank me later.”

Every year, there are suggestions that come from all directions on how to keep the windshield clear or how to clear it quickly. According to The Mirror, another way that you could do something similar is to use a rubber bathmat or cloth instead of cardboard.

If you are going to put something on your windshield the night before, make sure that it is dry. Otherwise, you may end up with something stuck to your windshield.

Another video on TikTok gave a suggestion that was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

They said that you can sit in the comfort of your front seat and watch as the heat melts the ice away.

Yet another suggestion was to sprinkle some table salt on your windshield and spray it with water. This is a scientific approach, as the ice will melt from a chemical reaction and not from heat.

One thing you shouldn’t do is use anything but an ice scraper to scrape the ice off of the windshield. Using a credit card or a CD will likely damage the vehicle.
