Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

The elderly couple that you are about to meet hails from Arizona and they have the most awesome story to tell. Can you believe that they decided to get married at the grocery store?

There is a very good reason for this decision, however. They actually met for the first time in the mayonnaise aisle and they wanted to commemorate the occasion by returning to this specific location.

Brenda and Dennis Delgado have certainly found love in a very special place. According to 12News, they met last year in aisle 8 at the Fry’s grocery store in Casa Grande. What better way to pay homage than by trading vows in the same aisle?

It’s not every day that you get to see someone walk down the aisle, while they are still in the aisle! Forgive us, we could not help ourselves.

They have such an awesome perspective on things, too. “I’m 72, he’s 78 now,” Brenda said an interview with 12News.”We don’t have that many more years to do something dumb and stupid.” This is true. Life is short and we have to seize the moments while we still can. Brenda happened to be searching for Cool Whip when her future husband approached.

He made a comment about the masks that they were wearing and it was on from there. It was not long before they hit it off. So what did Dennis say that made her react that way? We cannot stop laughing at his story and we can see why Brenda was more than happy to strike up a conversation with him.

“We both had masks on, and I say to her ‘you know the best thing about wearing a mask?'” Dennis said to her at the time. “‘You could pass these [people] not wearing a mask, and curse them out under your breath, they don’t hear a word you’re saying,’ and she started laughing.” Points were made!

They continued to talk and from there, Dennis attended a service at Brenda’s church. The two soon became inseparable. Their shared losses bonded them. Both had been forced to lay their longtime partners to rest. Now, they are appreciative of the second chance that the universe has offered to them. “You never know when you’re going to walk down the condiment aisle at Fry’s and you’re going to meet someone that you didn’t know you needed in your life,” Dennis says.
