If you happen to get into many conversations these days, you already realize that the rising prices of food are going to eventually be a topic. This is not only seen at the supermarket but it is especially seen when it comes to ordering takeout.

Many people have found themselves addicted to take-out and the convenience that it offers. At the same time, however, they quickly find themselves running out of money every week and living from paycheck to paycheck.

That is how one woman felt when she and her partner decided to do something about their takeout addiction. The mother of two decided that it was time to start cooking at home, and she wanted to document the journey on TikTok.

For Ella and her partner, ordering takeout twice a day was nothing out of the ordinary. They realized it was a problem because, at times, they were ordering three times a day, and rarely did a day ever go by where they didn’t order something to have delivered.

In order to break their addiction, they decided to go without takeout for 100 days. It was a personal challenge to make home-cooked meals and now that she is on day 13, she’s already saved herself about 650 dollars.

She describes her typical food day as eating something from Starbucks or Costa for breakfast and then going out to McDonald’s or having a Subway sub for lunch. By the time dinner rolled around, they would grab some fast food or anything that sounded good to them.

By the time they were on day 11, they had already saved about $500. They also responded to some questions about if they fed their children the same diet and she said that they did not feed their children that much takeout. They had an occasional takeout meal, but the parents were eating them every day.

The commenters came in to talk about their own, personal addictions to takeout and how it is a real problem for many people. There have been many who have supported them and it will be interesting to see how much money they save when they reach day 100.
