Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Food samples haven’t been available at most Costco warehouses, for good reason. They are doing everything in their power to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and that includes removing the free samples. But, at long last, it appears that these samples are making their way back to Costco locations and not a moment too soon. It’s been so long since we went out for lunch!

The free samples do not look the same as they once did, though. The COVID-19 guidelines are still in place at the moment, so the only samples that you can grab now are pre-packaged and dry. They may be a tad different than what we have become accustomed to.

@costcoguy4u is the Instagram user who shared the scoop initially. The kiosk does look familiar, which gave us a lot of joy. The cooked food that used to sit right on the kiosk is not there anymore, though. There is a clear display case that is designed to keep shoppers safe. Obviously, the old ways of doing things were not going to work in the current climate.

Great News..Demos R Back! A little different than what we are used to but we will take it! It looks like they will be giving out prepackaged dry samples and not on all demos… The new normal

In this particular instance, shoppers were still able to sample spinach ravioli, spaghetti noodles, and jarred pasta sauce. “A little different than what we are used to but we will take it! It looks like they will be giving out pre-packaged dry samples and not on all demos…The new normal,” read costcoguy4u’s caption.

Allergy alerts and pricing information are also displayed at the kiosks. Costco is also urging customers to maintain the proper social distancing guidelines while they are shopping. It’s good to have a semblance of normalcy at the moment. We cannot wait to head to Costco so that we can try out their latest foods for ourselves.

If there’s one thing the pandemic has taught us, it’s that we need to appreciate the little things in life – like Costco samples.
