Downsizing is a great way to ensure that your living space is fully maximized. However, there are some who are not as thrilled about this process as we are. It’s tough to get rid of items that we have had for a long time, whether there is sentimental value or not. Think about it this way, though. You are going to feel so much lighter by the time it’s all said and done.

WhatsUpMoms has the 411 on cleaning out the closet, and their clip is too helpful. When the clip begins, this woman tells us that her closet has not been purged in six years. This definitely makes us feel a lot better about our current situation. Over the course of the past six years, she’s had three kids as well. This means that a number of her clothes no longer fit or align with her current lifestyle.

This is a familiar issue and she has the tips that are sure to have your closet looking its best. While you are going to want to find out more about the pointers that she is about to provide, we thought we would take a moment to point out a couple of our favorites.

When we tell you that she removes every single item from the closet, we mean it. She doesn’t pick through, piece by piece, but tackles the whole monster at once. And she recommends you do it that way as well.

The other tip that stuck out for us had to do with trying things on. She did not place items that she intended to keep back into the closet until she had actually taken the time to try them on. This is smart because it saves us from wasting space on items that we are not going to be able to use anyway.

She’s got a lot more useful tips and tricks when it comes to cleaning out your closet. Check it out in the video below:
