Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Having a hot tub or pool in the backyard is an absolute godsend once the summer months roll around. If there is a better way to have a good time on those hazy summer evenings, we have yet to hear about it.

Of course, once the hours of fun are over and it is time for everyone to head back inside, the clean-up process can be arduous. The opening, the closing, and the cleaning are all annoyances that we would rather not deal with.

Whether you are emptying out your filter, running the vacuum, or adding the necessary chemicals that will keep the tub or pool clean, there are always jobs that need to be done.

When it comes time to keep our skin safe, we like to apply a lot of sunscreen before we get into the pool. There’s just one problem there: This creates a greasy film that floats to the top of the surface of the water.

Turns out, there’s an easy hack to clean the pool or hot tub and ensure this film doesn’t remain long. All you need to do is toss a few tennis balls into the water and the rest will take care of itself. The balls float on the hot tub’s surface, soaking up all the film.

Give the tennis balls a few hours to work their magic, remove them from the water, and toss them into the washing machine. The tennis balls will be fully clean in no time at all and ready to use again!
