If you are from Chicago or you currently reside there, there is a good chance that you are already very familiar with Willie Wilson.

He’s a prominent businessman in the area who is always looking to help out his fellow residents in any way that he can. The hike in gas prices has been causing a lot of problems lately. That’s why he is looking to help out.

Those who pay close attention to the news may have noticed that he gave away $200,000 in free gas just last week. For many, this would be enough philanthropy to last a lifetime but Wilson is a different sort.

He is taking things to a whole new level. As a follow-up to the earlier donation, he donated a whopping $1 million!

Gas stations all over the city were dealing with massive lines, as everyone arrived to get their free fill up. Each vehicle was given the chance to enjoy a $50 fill-up until the supplies were exhausted. Another giveaway is planned for March 24:

Last time, at least 4,000 motorists were able to receive a free fill-up. That number is expected to climb big time this time around.

50 gas stations in the city participated and they even agreed to lower their prices during the giveaway. This allows even more families to take advantage of the generosity. As for Wilson himself, he is not looking to be praised for his actions.

“The need among the community is so great,” Wilson said, according to WGN9. “Soaring gas prices have caused a hardship for too many of our citizens.”
