Cherries in the Snow is one of those old-fashioned desserts that has been around for generations. It’s simple, sweet, and easy to put together, making it a popular choice for potlucks and family get-togethers. With a fluffy texture and bright cherry topping, it’s also a dessert that looks right at home on a holiday party table. Let’s get into how it’s made…

The base starts with a simple cream cheese mixture made with powdered sugar and milk. Cool Whip is folded in to keep it light and creamy, then pieces of angel food cake are added. The cake soaks up some of that creamy mixture while still keeping the dessert nice and airy.

Once everything is spread into a baking dish, the cherry pie filling goes right over the top. The tart cherries add a nice contrast to the sweet, creamy base and give the dessert its signature look. There’s no baking involved, so it’s a good recipe to make ahead when you’re preparing for a busy gathering.

Chill the dish for at least an hour before serving so everything has time to set. It can be sliced or scooped straight from the dish. If you’re looking for a classic dessert that takes just a handful of ingredients and very little effort, this one is worth keeping around. Give it a try and we know it’ll become a family favorite!
