This California chef and restaurant owner is here to shed some light on the importance of finding the perfect work/life balance.

Genji Sato is the owner of Sushi Sasabune in Glendale but he is not the type that will refuse to put his little one first. During a recent interview with Today, he admitted that he does not get to spend as much time with his son as he would like.

That’s why he made the following announcement last month on Instagram: He’s going to be closing up shop for the day so that he can take his son to Legoland. When he posted the sign on his door and on his social media accounts, he never could have expected what he would end up seeing next. People offered an outpouring of support!

The likes and shares came pouring in rapidly, touching the man deeply. “Thank you for all kind comments and messages, we never thought everyone would love our sign that much,” he wrote. Sato also put up a video of himself and his son enjoying Legoland, which is a fun watch for anyone who is looking to share in their joy. We love to see it!

Parents can often find it difficult to balance their schedules with their children. Sure, we all want to spend all day with our little ones but work can make that very difficult. That’s why this story is such a special one. This man had every excuse to keep plugging away and telling his son that he would have to spend time with him another day.

That’s not what he did, though. He found the willingness to put his son first and he did not have to try all that hard. Now, he is sharing his story to provide inspiration for other parents who find themselves in the same shoes. We can all relate to what this family is going through because we have dealt with this plenty of times in the past.

We hope that Sato and his little one get to enjoy lots more Legoland trips in the future. After all, they deserve it!

Now, if you will excuse us, we need to dry our eyes a bit!
