Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

There are some of us who are simply natural born creatives. You give them any project and they can handle it with ease. The photos that you are about to see are hard to believe but trust us…..they are 100 percent real. Emma Mouley is a mother from Great Britain who decided to embark on a renovation project for the ages. Her ’89 Compass Omega Caravan needed to be converted and she decided to completely transform it.

The entire process cost her roughly $670 in US dollars. The camper (also known as Bertha) was purchased for about the same amount ($600 US). This is one investment that definitely paid off big time!

Bertha on the day we bought her #caravanbertha

It looked quite differently than it does now, on the day that Emma brought it home. Her friends and loved ones had to be stunned when they learned more about the transformation. Bertha looked pretty old and decrepit, if we are being honest. The camper was lacking in character. Emma finally decided that she had enough and we are happy that she made this choice. We cannot get enough of the before and after photos.

This story should provide many of us with the inspiration to tackle the projects that we have been neglecting at home. You know how it goes. We keep saying things like “one of these days” and “at some point,” only to keep sitting on our butts. If Emma can turn this dingy camper into a chic new trailer, what excuse do the rest of us have?

The camper was cleaned out, given a brand new coat of paint, and some modern flourishes were added. Emma’s project did not take long to take shape and this is now a living space that looks brand new. She even put in a brand new floor and bunk beds.

Check out some of the photos she shared of the progess.

So happy with how Bertha has turned out, this time last year she was just a dream that I thought would never happen. I’ve done most of the work on my own and I’m pretty damn chuffed! She’ll be worth all the hard work when I hit the road with my 2 girls and we make lots of amazing memories 🖤 . . . #caravan #caravanrenovation #caravanmakeover #caravanpalace
