Camper Opens Tent To Find Bear Searching Food Right Outside
Camping is a great activity to pass the time, but some people have some hesitations about the activity. While it can be a fun way to get outside and enjoy nature and take some time to unplug, it’s also got an element of unpredictability.
After all, there are wild animals in the wilderness, like bears and mountain lions, that can pose a threat. While those animals don’t typically bother campers, running into them seems to be a fear that many people have.

Just imagine you’re sound asleep in your tent and you hear a rustling or noise outside. You unzip the tent and peek out to find a giant brown bear searching the area for food!
It’d be like something from a nightmare, and it actually happened to one unlucky camper!

They were out enjoying nature when a nearby nose woke them up. After they peeked outside their tent, they could barely believe it. A giant brown bear was nuzzling the grass just feet from the tent.
The camper pulled out a device to film the bear, before very quietly putting his tent flap back down. It must’ve been a terrifying moment, but a neat one to relive afterward!

According to the National Park Service, it’s important to ensure bears can’t access your food while you’re out in the wilderness camping or hiking. Using bear-proof containers or boxes can protect you from encountering bears looking for a snack.
While they’re usually not threatening, some bears can be aggressive and wild animals are unpredictable. Carrying bear spray on your body or in your tent can help protect you in the event that a bear does attack or becomes aggressive.
