If you’ve been around for very long, you probably already know that we love a good snack mix. Sweet, savory, or spicy– we don’t discriminate. One of my all-time favorite versions is an Asian Style Snack Mix. Full of flavors like sesame, wasabi, and soy, it has the perfect crunch and is absolutely addictive. The only problem is that it’s not available in all grocery stores. The solution? Whipping up this easy homemade version yourself. Gather your ingredients and let’s get started!
This mix can easily be customized to suit your family’s preferences, but the core ingredients you’ll want to start with are rice chex, honey roasted peanuts, sesame sticks, and chow mein noodles. I love to include wasabi peas for an extra kick, but those can be left out if you have a lower heat tolerance. A simple soy sauce glaze is whisked together and then tossed with the dry ingredients until everything is coated. Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet and pop it in the oven for about half an hour, then give it a stir halfway through for an even crispiness.
Allow the mix to cool and then it’s time to dig in! Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep it nice and fresh. Whether it’s for game day, movie night, or an afternoon snack, this Asian Style Snack Mix is sure to be a big hit. Give the recipe a try and see for yourself!
