When 11-year-old Audrey Soape’s father passed away in March of 2021, followed shortly after by the loss of her grandfather, the girl was devastated. The losses were sudden and unexpected, and she was struggling to cope.

Audrey’s mom, Holly, knew that there was an upcoming father-daughter dance and she wanted to do everything in her power to make it special and a night to remember. That’s when she got an idea to reach out to Audrey’s favorite NFL player: Anthony Harris of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Holly shared in an Instagram post, “Through the grace of God, and amazing generosity of the @anthony_harris_foundation, my girl got escorted by her favorite @philadelphiaeagles player @antharris.”

She went on to say how Harris made the evening so magical, “starting with him getting her the dress and shoes of her dreams, hair and makeup…and a personal escort to the dance.”

Holly added that “The smile never left her face as she felt like a princess being twirled around the dance floor by her favorite person. The kindness and generosity shown by Anthony was remarkable and I know she’ll never forget this night.” She ended the post by thanking Harris, saying, “Thank you for helping turn this heartbreak into magic and gifting us the blessing of a lifetime.”

In an interview with NBC10 Philadelphia, Harris explained that Holly and her family often reached out to him on social media and asked how they could pray for him or if there was anything they could do to support him.

It was a kind gesture, and one he was more than happy to repay. He said, “You’ve got to cherish these moments. You never know how long we have here on this earth. The people that you care about and the people you love, show support for them.”
