Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Flight attendants are always able to give us the 411 on various aspects of flying that we may not have considered before.

If you have ever flown before, you may have had to use the bathroom onboard for one reason or another. This is a common impulse, but now, this flight attendant is here to explain why this is a major issue that needs to be addressed.

According to her, we should not be using the toilet paper that is found onboard. TikToker @flightbae.b is based out of Miami and she’s giving up all sorts of secrets that are sure to help the sky dwellers out there. It might disgust you but it needs to be said. The toilet paper that is available on most airlines could be quite dirty.

“Use the tissue paper as opposed to the toilet paper. When turbulence hits and little boys who are pointing and shooting, they kind of shoot everywhere. That usually ends up on the toilet paper so if you don’t want that kind of stuff in your nether regions, use the tissue paper,” she explains in a clip posted on TikTok. This makes perfect sense to us and we cannot believe that we didn’t consider it before.

She said that the tissue towels are more likely to remain clean because they sit up higher. This keeps them from being splashed as easily as the toilet paper. “It’s cleaner, so just use that instead of the toilet paper,” she adds.

Someone commented on the video, saying: “And also, antibacterial wipes !!! I used to be an aircraft cleaner and we just used a dry rag to dust off the seat and wipe those tables.”

It’s never a bad idea to be prepared, so it wouldn’t hurt to pack your own wet wipes and some antibacterial wipes for any bathroom uses while onboard!
