We’ve compiled a list of our favorite blueberry desserts – because who doesn’t love blueberries?
Summer is here, and that means picnics, grill-outs, back yard BBQs, and pot luck dinners. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to try and come up with fun, unique and manageable desserts to bring to each of these occasions, but we’ve got you covered! Below, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite blueberry desserts – because who doesn’t love blueberries? Did you know that July is national blueberry month? What better way to celebrate than whipping up a few of these desserts! Of course, blueberries can be enjoyed at any time of the year!
Blueberry Cloud Jello Salad
You can use just about any combo of flavors you like, but we particularly like a berry variety with a bit of a tropical twist; blackberry jello, crushed pineapple and blueberry pie filling all get mixed together until they set into a nice layer, before getting a cheesecake-esque treatment with the cream cheese and frozen whipped topping coating that gets spread on over the top. Tangy, sweet, and a perfect complement to the fruity, juicy bottom, these layers are a match made in heaven! Get the recipe here!
Lemon Blueberry Heaven On Earth Cake
This new cake won us over in just one bite. We mentioned how much we love angel food cake and how it reminds us of summers growing up…something about the lighter-than-air cake that, when paired with berries, immediately takes us back to all those hot days when angel food cake was just the thing to satiate our sweet tooth without being too heavy in the heat. Instead of pairing it with cherry pie filling (then adding vanilla pudding and frozen whipped topping), we used blueberry pie filling and lemon pudding, which really took this to a whole new level and we knew we’d struck gold. Truly a heavenly dish (pun intended). Get the recipe here!
Lemon Blueberry Loaf Cake
Lemon and blueberries are two of our favorite baking partners. We’ve joined their tasteful forces together into one amazing loaf cake, one that bursts with blueberries and bright lemon flavor. Our blueberry loaf is super easy to make and one that will undoubtedly disappear faster than you can say “lemon blueberry loaf cake!” A cup of coffee, a slice (or two) of this sweet and delicious blueberry loaf, and a newspaper or a good book are all we need to start off the perfect lazy weekend morning. Creamy Blueberry Pie Fudge
You know what we absolutely love to make every summer? Blueberry pie. Or blueberry crisp. Or really anything with blueberries in it. Like this blueberry pie fudge! Yup, we skipped basically all the classic ingredients found in traditional fudge, and instead went with a white chocolate version that lets our fresh blueberries sing. Blueberries whose flavor is brought out even more with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate…those are the main elements here and the final result is just bliss. You guys, this stuff is so, so good – don’t skip it!
Blueberry Gooey Butter Cake
You don’t even know what greatness is coming your way with this recipe. Buckle up and get ready. Have you had butter cake before? If not, that’s something that needs to be remedied immediately, but we’re going to take things one step further: blueberry gooey butter cake. Holy guacamole, you guys, this stuff is amazing. Basically a buttery, cakey, blueberry cheesecake hybrid, every time we make this we end up devouring it in record time. It’s a problem. (But a really, really good problem that we’re totally okay with having.) Get the recipe here!
Blueberry Crumb Twist Sticks
Whether it’s for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, these blueberry crumb sticks are the perfect choice. Buttery, twisted morsels…these things are packed with flavor and seriously yummy. Let’s break it down for you: buttery layers of crescent roll dough smothered in blueberry cream cheese, then covered with blueberry pie filling. Top that off with another layer of dough, then slice it up into thin strips and twist away. You get perfectly spiraled bites of fruity deliciousness that’ll have you hooked in no time.
