If you are anything like us, you have probably seen neighborhoods where all of the houses look exactly the same.
In some instances, neighborhoods will create model homes to showcase to potential buyers. From there, people will add their own customization as they see fit. There is nothing wrong with this practice and lots of people do not mind having the same homes as their neighbors.
Having a common style of home has its advantages and disadvantages, that is for sure. These homes tend to be stylish, functional, and spacious. While there are some people who want a home like the ones we just described, there are others who are looking for something that is a bit more unique. In some cases, that means moving into something “outdated.”
There is nothing wrong with moving into a home that reminds you of a bygone era, though. This Michigan home definitely falls into that category. In fact, it looks like something that Austin Powers would be living in. There’s lots of wood and glass inside, as well as a tiger statue. It won’t shock anyone to learn that it was built back in 1979. It is located in Sturgis, Michigan, for anyone who is curious.
The home also happens to be quite pricey for the area. Not only is the home selling for $375,000 but the purchaser will have to sink another $200,000 into the residence for the necessary repairs, according to Michigan Live.
This is quite pricey for the region, as most homes are selling for roughly half that. So why would someone want it? It is rather spacious, for starters.
According to Michigan Live, the home used to belong to former Sturgis Iron and Metal owner Ralph Levin and his wife, Renee. This party palace is now being offered to the general public. Dennis Bamber is the realtor who is responsible for its sale.
“It sits on almost 2 acres and offers you the unique opportunity to have an estate like no other,” he said. “It’s for whoever has a big family, wants to have a fun house and can put enough money into it to have a super house without paying superhouse prices,” he continues.
