Since this is one of our favorite kitchen tools, we relished having the chance to learn more. Jennifer (who goes by @jenniabs3 on TikTok) is here to teach us more.
She is peeling her potatoes and explaining the swivel aspect to the audience in this awesome video. We had no idea about any of this until today. Kudos to Jennifer for being willing to take the time to explain it. The guesses that we had about why the blade swivels on the potato peeler were actually incorrect but that is okay.
It is never too late to learn and that is why we are happy to share this video. We are more than certain that there are more than a few viewers at home who were learning about this one for the first time as well.
“The reason why potato peelers swivel back and forth is that you can not only go down but forward when you’re peeling so that you can peel the entire thing super fast,” Jennifer shares.
The best part of all is that she was more than willing to share more about the lore of the potato peeler. There is so much that we did not know, apparently. We are not about to spoil the whole thing for those who have not watched yet, though. If you would like to learn more about all of the aspects of the potato peeler, you are simply going to have to watch.
Trust us on this one, though. It is well worth your time. Jennifer even takes the time to explain the pointy end of the potato peeler to all of us.
This was information that we were glad to receive because we were living in blissful ignorance. She may have thought that these were universally known facts but that’s why you should never assume.
