Walmart Employee Shares What It’s Like To Be An Overnight Stocker
Walmart overnight stocking does not seem like the most glamorous job in the world but it surely pays the bills.
This 18-year-old, who goes by the name @dakdontmiss on TikTok, is here to tell us all about it. We love these types of video series because they give us insight into jobs that we might not have known about otherwise.
The series began back in February and is amassing hundreds of thousands of views. He restocks the shelves in the empty store and is now offering us the chance to learn more about what he does day in and day out. These videos might be straightforward in nature but viewers everywhere have been absolutely glued to them ever since he decided to start posting them.
His shifts begin at 10 PM, as he starts placing all of the refrigerated grocery items on the shelves. After a few hours spent restocking, he then makes his way to his car at around 2 AM for what is known as a lunch break. Of course, we are using that term loosely in this particular instance but you get the idea. It’s about what you would expect.
From there, he continues about his work for the rest of the shift, and by the time he gets home, it is after 7 AM and the sun is out.
The videos are not overly revealing but people are loving them all the same. There are lots of folks who seem to find them soothing and we can understand that. There is definitely something to be said for the type of jobs that do not require a sizable amount of human interaction.
It’s the sort of job that a lot of us could get used to if we were able to handle the hours. That’s the only tough part to consider. The sleep schedule is, as well. According to this young man, he sleeps from 8 AM until the early afternoon, which makes all of the sense in the world to us. He also takes home $17.50 per hour, which is pretty sweet.
