Travis Scott’s Hard Seltzer Discontinued Indefinitely
We may only be a few weeks away from 2022, but the tragic events that occurred at the November 5 Astroworld concert are still felt by those close to the tragedy.
Travis Scott’s concert quickly descended into crowd control chaos which resulted in the deaths of 10 people as well as hundreds of more injuries. As a result, Travis is currently facing several lawsuits all tied to the Astroworld concert. But that isn’t the only fallout that seems to be following the rapper.

The rapper’s seltzer brand, CACTI, has officially been pulled. According to NBC News, the company, Anheuser-Busch, released an official statement regarding the discontinuing of the CACTI hard seltzers. They explained, “After careful evaluation, we have decided to stop all production and brand development of CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer. We believe brand fans will understand and respect this decision.”
Both Anheuser-Busch’s website and social media channels have already removed all traces of the CACTI hard seltzers. Granted, the correlation is all speculation, as Anheuser-Busch has declined to provide AdAge with a comment when asked if the discontinuation was a result of the Astroworld concert tragedy.

Whether or not it was, CACTI did enjoy a successful run regardless of how short it was. The hard seltzer was launched earlier this year in March, when it very quickly destroyed records. According to PAPER, the hard seltzer had sold out by the thousands across the US – all within its first 24 hours! And the online inventory was sold out within 12 hours.
Regarding the events of the November 5th tragedy, Travis Scott admitted to radio host, Charlamagne Tha God, that he “didn’t know the exact details until minutes before the press conference.”

Regardless, the discontinuation of CACTI by Anheuser-Busch isn’t the only business that seems to be distancing itself from Travis Scott. Recently, Nike shared their plans to “hold off” on releasing their Air Max sneakers – a collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott.
Nike’s official statement read, “Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack.”

It is still unknown if the sneakers will be pulled altogether but only time will tell. Same as time will tell if there are any other business partnerships that fall through as a result of the Astroworld tragedy.
What do you think of the discontinued hard seltzer? Have you ever tried it? Are you sad to see it discontinued? Let us know!
