Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Tough stains always reveal themselves during the moments when we least expect them to. Whether we’re sitting at our desk drinking a coffee or walking home from getting a hotdog, stains pop up at the most inopportune moments! Turns out, a quick and simple solution for fighting stains could be right in your bathroom.

In fact, one of the best stain removers we’ve come across is shaving cream. The same cream that you use to get rid of razor bumps and slashes can also be used to make your home look even nicer! Since the shaving creams normally found in stores are nice and foamy, they actually make for great cleaning products. This makes a ton of sense if you stop and think about it.

If you have coffee stains on your rug or carpet, shaving cream is one of the easiest ways to remove them. This is hugely important for those of us who are renting. The last thing that anyone wants to do is cough up a significant chunk of their security deposit.

And that’s not where shaving cream’s benefits stop. Let’s say that you have gotten some makeup on your shirt collar. We’ve all been there (well, at least I have!). It’s annoying and one of the toughest stains to remove. However, if you carry a travel-sized bottle of shaving cream in your purse than this problem may be a thing of the past.

To get the best results, simply dab the shaving cream into the area that is stained. Allow it to sit for at least a half-hour. If successful, the shaving cream will loosen up the stain in question. From there, you should be able to wipe it away with ease. Tougher stains may require a bit longer, so leave the shaving cream overnight and take it from there.
