In the past few years, yoga has expanded in practice to include a multiple of variations such as hot yoga and yoga with animals. Whatever you’re into, it’s safe to say you’ll be able to find a style of yoga to fit your needs. A recent addition to the yoga family is the new “cursing yoga” that is offered in Houston Texas,

Instructor Ashely Duzich is the head of Rage Yoga, where classes involve screaming, cursing, and stretching, all while you drink a beer. If you have pent-up stress, deep-seated anger, or just overall tension then this is a perfect class. The entire focus of the session is to let loose and get rid of negative emotions.

However, if what you’re seeking is peace or quiet, then this might not be the class for you, as Duzich encourages her students to be anything but quiet and to yell whatever they want. It’s held twice a month at the Brash Brewery. Participants are discouraged from bringing children along, but they’re more than welcome to bring their dogs – as if it couldn’t get any better.

Duzich explains that the yoga world is all about creating unity within yourself in the form of total balance of mind, body, and soul. She feels that sometimes that unification gets achieved through shouting and letting everything out. It makes sense, as we often feel better after letting things out. If anyone is in the Houston area, does this sound like something you’d want to try?
