TikTok really comes in clutch when it pertains to life hacks. For example, most of us have probably struggled for years with the plastic rings that come around drinks.

How do you get them out without needing a blow torch and a sauntering iron to get through the rigid plastic rings that keep the bottles in place?

Well, I’m sad to admit that I was today years old when I learned that there is an easier way of dealing with plastic rings around bottled drinks. Worst still, it has always been there, just maybe not so obvious to some.

We are all familiar with the struggle associated with the plastic rings. What we might not be familiar with, is the simplicity with which we can free up a bottle in an instant. That’s because most of us might not know that there is a pull tab to the side.

Yeah, apparently most plastic rings come with this tab and if you pull it, you can instantly free up several bottles at once. Wish I’d known this just that bit sooner!

But thanks to TikTok, now we know and we’ve saved ourselves some trouble.

Check out the hack below:

Of course, this lifehack might soon become a thing of the past as hopefully, plastic rings will soon get eliminated.

Many brands are starting to make attempts at reducing or eliminating single-use plastic items. These plastic rings would certainly count as single-use plastic.

In fact, Danish beer company, Carlsberg, has already replaced the six-pack rings with recyclable glue! But until all plastic rings are eliminated, don’t forget to cut up the rings of your six-packs before throwing them away in an effort to protect wildlife.

What do you think of this hack? Did you already know about it before TikTok? Will you be trying it out? Let us know!
