Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

It seems like so long ago that COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. At the time, we didn’t know what that meant for our future.

I remember that March of 2020 was basically supposed to be a “three weeks at home” sort of situation where we’d be out and about in no time. The first part of lockdown was a delightful time filled with sourdough bread pictures, whipped Dalgona coffee TikToks, and Tiger King. But, it soon became evident that three weeks was not going to be the end of the pandemic.

A year and a half later, it’s still ongoing, but at least restrictions have lifted enough for some travel to resume. That is good news for so many people as one of the hardest parts of the pandemic is not having seen our loved ones in person.

Being apart this long from loved ones has really taken a toll on many people. And that is why Pedro Tessarolo was ecstatic to see his grandma after a year and a half apart.

Pedro chose to film the moment so that he could capture the full emotion of the reunion. And it is truly heartwarming to watch. Not to mention, it reminds us of what is important: the love we have for family. Both Pedro and his grandmother shared lots of tears and some long overdue hugs!
