There is a new study in the works that aims to get to the bottom of a particular idea about the consumption of cheese before bedtime. That idea is that eating cheese before bed could cause you to have nightmares.
Sleep Junkie is responsible for the study. As lovers of cheese, we are definitely interested in finding out more about the results. After all, no one wants to give themselves a nightmare if they can possibly avoid it.
According to the job posting, five American testers are going to be chosen by the good folks at Sleep Junkie. They will make their way through a number of different cheeses and report back on their findings. To make the deal even sweeter, the participants will be given the chance to take home $1,000 apiece.
“The chosen candidates will be paid for their work and all cheese costs will be expensed,” the official job description says. “Our dairy dreamers will become our official cheese testers, providing honest feedback on how eating various kinds of cheese before bed impacts their sleep quality.” If you would like to know more about the requirements, you will definitely want to head to the website.
Those who wish to participate will need to make sure that they fit the necessary criteria. The applicants who are selected must all be over the age of 21 and have ownership of a fitness tracker or a smartwatch.
Sleeping alone is also a must, in addition to having a consistent sleep schedule. Applicants who are suffering from sleep-related issues are disqualified.
Last but certainly not least, the participants in this study cannot be lactose or dairy intolerant. If you are chosen for the study, you will need to have the spring months open. The study will take place between the months of March and May.
In addition to these qualities, Sleep Junkies has a few other qualifications that they are seeking before they make any final choices. They are looking for people who are “self-starters, honest, with good writing skills and [who] enjoy both sleeping and eating.” That makes perfect sense to us. We might just end up applying for this one ourselves!
