A good fudgy brownie is pretty much my idea of the perfect dessert. I mean, it’s hard to improve on something that good. But after enjoying my fair share of chocolate candied oranges this holiday season I got to thinking that Orange Chocolate Brownies just might be a combination worth trying. And let me tell you, I was absolutely right. This recipe captures all the zesty flavors I love in one chewy brownie slice.
The orange flavor in this recipe comes from a generous amount of fresh orange zest and orange flavored chocolate baked right in. You’ll find all the typically brownie staples like flour, sugar, and butter for a deliciously rich and thick batter. Spread it in an 8×8-inch baking dish and pop them in the oven for about half an hour.
I like my brownies on the chewy side so I typically error on the side of undercooked for a softer center. If you like a crispier brownie feel free to add a couple minutes to the baking time. Once your brownies are out of the oven it’s time to pour yourself a big glass of milk and dig in! Give these Chocolate Orange Brownies a try and it’s sure to be love at first bite.
