If you are a true Beastie Boys fan, you know that this is not the first time Mike D has shown off one of his awesome residences.

The American singer may be best known for his music group, but he’s also got a taste in style.

Back in 2013, the New York Times did an awesome piece about his Brooklyn townhouse, which was renovated to fit his personal taste. Those who remember this piece would do well to read on and learn more about this residence.

As it turns out, this is not the only beautiful property that Mike D calls his own. It took about six years and 3,000 miles to make this dream come true but he was not going to be denied. Now, he is allowing the good folks at Architectural Digest to take a closer look at his home and we have been loving every minute of it.

This gorgeous home is custom designed and is nestled right in Malibu. He shares the residence with his wife, Tamara Davis, and their two sons, Davis and Skyler.

This lovely family wanted their own beach sanctuary and they asked famous architect Barbara Bestor to assist them with this goal. Now that we have gotten a chance to see the finished product, we are absolutely blown away.

This is a true sanctuary, in every sense of the word. We are already feeling more peaceful just looking at it. Mike D was sure to give the backstory and he was quick to give the credit for this custom design to Bestor.

“This would require way more money and patience than we had. Then we talked to our friend Barbara Bestor, whom we’d known for years. Barbara had kids, and she understood how we wanted to live. She also had experience working within tight money constraints. A quick alliance was struck. Barbara would do all the architecture, and I would oversee the interiors, collaborating closely with her team,” Mike D explained in the video below. These two have created something truly beautiful. This house is a work of art.
