Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

We’ve all been there – the cookies get a little too crisp, the muffins stick to the pan… the list goes on and on. Most of the time, we make some pretty fantastic desserts, if we do say so ourselves, but every once in a while, even the best bakers encounter these baking fails! Never fear, we’re here to show you a few easy ways to salvage your desserts.

Cracked Cheesecake

We love a good instant, no-bake cheesecake as much as the next person, but there’s just something about baking this delicious treat from scratch that makes it that much more decedant and delicious. But what about when the top of that perfect cheesecake ends up with huge cracks in it? Sure, it tastes the same, but it’s not nearly as pretty to look at. Keep reading to discover this brilliant (and tasty) way to fix it!

Mix sour cream and sugar together, and spread the misxture over the top of the cheesecake. Then, add a few dollops of berry jam and swirl it around to make a pretty pattern. Next, bake at 400 for 15 minutes. Cover and let chill overnight. The end result? Sour cream & berry cheesecake. Yum!

Cake Stuck In Pan

So, you forgot to grease the cake or cupcake pan, and now you’re stuck with a crumbled, broken cake on your hands. Now what? Glad you asked. Now, it’s time to move on to plan B: Cake pops! Gather all of your crumbled cake pieces in a bowl, and mix in icing until the mixture is nice and moist.

Then, roll the cake mixture into balls and stick lollipop sticks or bamboo skewers into the bottom. Chill for a few hours and then dip the cake balls into melted white or dark chocolate. Top with sprinkes and enjoy!

Overbaked Cookies

There’s nothing more disappointing than making a batch of cookie dough, smelling the delicious goodness while it’s baking, mouth watering while you’re imagining taking that first bite into a warm cookie… only to pull the pan out of the oven and see the cookies are overbaked and hard as rocks! Never fear, these cookies can serve a higher purpose! First, put the burnt cookies into a food processor and add in a little butter.

Then, press the moistened crumbs into the bottom of a pie pan and fill it up with pudding. Let the pudding pie chill for a few hours, and then top with whipped cream. The end result is a delicious cookie-crusted pudding pie!
