Hotel Employee Shares Why You Should Never Use The Plates In The Room
If you are someone who regularly spends nights away from home and you are looking to get the most out of your hotel room, this story is a very crucial one.
While the idea of using your crockery is probably not something that you are giving much thought to, this hotel worker is here to make sure that you avoid the usual pitfalls. RedRose_812 is here to change the game.

She works at a boutique hotel that comes with kitchenettes. Each of these kitchenettes includes plates, cutlery, and pans. Yes, we would be using these items under normal circumstances but guess what? The guests who also stay in these rooms are not the cleanest people in the world. It’s not recommended that we use the crockery, for this very important reason.
According to The Sun, she wrote:
“It was fairly common for people to use the dishes in the kitchenette and then just put them back in the cabinet without washing them.
For reference, the hotel provided dishes (two to three plates and bowls, etc), silverware, and a couple of cooking pots, pans and utensils.
And each room also has a mini dishwasher and the hotel provided both detergent for that and regular dish soap for hand washing dishes.
I really didn’t mind finding dishes in the sink. I could pop them in the dishwasher and it wasn’t a big deal. But to put dirty, crusty dishes away like you hadn’t used them? Who does that? GROSS.”

We were laughing along with the commentators who opined about how these people live at their own residences.
We cannot believe how filthy some folks are but we should stop being surprised by these things at this point. People get a hotel room and decide that they are going to live in ways that they never would before. That’s what makes us so upset. They know better but they choose not to do better.

The glasses in your hotel room should also never be used without taking a moment to wash them first, as most experienced hotel staffers will recommend. You just never know how they were cleaned before you got there!
