It doesn’t take any extra time, but can change how you look big time.
Most of us aren’t going to run out and get cosmetic surgery in order to look younger, but we still want to look our best. And, sometimes it’s a real confidence booster to change up some small aspect of your appearance for a more youthful look. Doing your hair differently can be just the ticket and it’s amazing how even minor alterations to your hair routines can have a big impact.
Parting your hair in the middle can make you look older. If your hair allows (cowlicks, we’re looking at you) create a part on the side and see if you don’t notice a difference in how you look.
Likewise using a straightener on your hair to create an ultra-straight look can bring your face down and accentuate fine lines. By adding soft waves (also using your flat iron) you can give the impression of softer lines as well.
Avoid severe looks like a tight ponytail at the center back of your skull. A slight bouffant to the top and sides will make this hairstyle seem more put together and less harsh.
Another severe look than can age a woman with long hair is to pull the hair up in a tight bun on the back of the head. Instead, try a much more vivacious look by making a messy bun on the top of your head and pulling a few strands out at the front and sides. This type of hairstyle has a more carefree to it- even if you spent the same amount of time as you would have for a more severe hairstyle.
Even if you aren’t trying to look younger, it’s nice to switch up your hairstyle from time to time and it can give a fresh feeling to your overall look.
