Paige DeCiancio is the one who is providing the info and she goes by the same name on the app, if you want to follow her.

For the longest time, people have thought that they were ahead of the game by asking the movie theater workers to make them fresh popcorn when they head to the concession stand. Those who have participated in this practice in the past will be inspired to change their ways after this.

This is not the first movie theater secret that has been shared on the app and we are more than sure that it won’t be the last. The tip that Paige has to offer is a very simple one. It all starts with her setting the stage. She impersonates a patron who is going to come up to the concession stand with the idea that they are going to demand the “freshest” batch possible.

“You actually don’t want the popcorn that’s directly out of the kettle,” she shares. “Because it’s so hot that it’s still this, like, warm mushball. It’s not good.” That’s not all that she had to say, either. In her professional opinion, the best popcorn has already been sitting out for at least an hour or so.

Most theaters will be making popcorn all day, so there is no need to inquire about freshness. “It’s not been sitting there for days on end,” she added. “Popcorn actually doesn’t go stale for at least about a week, but you’re never gonna have popcorn a week old at a movie theater. Just so you know.”

Other movie theater employees were quick to agree with her assessment, in case you were wondering. “Yes! I worked at a movie theatre and the best tasting popcorn was the popcorn that was leftover from the night before and reheated. So much better,” added one of them.
