If you take a stroll through any casino, you are bound to see a wide range of people crowded around the slot machines, hoping to make a big play.

They’ll keep pulling and pulling all day because they are truly dedicated. Other casino visitors might decide that they would rather play blackjack or head to the poker tables. This New York City woman, on the other hand, has a totally different game to play.

It does not even involve any sort of gambling, which is music to the ears of those who do not wish to bet. Since you do not know how to play yet, Ileana (who goes by @ileana.justine on TikTok) is offering a tutorial.

“I don’t know if anyone else plays this game when they’re at casinos, but my favorite game to play is walking around and collecting all of the cash people leave on their machines and seeing how much I can get,” she shared.

When she refers to cash, she is talking about the receipts that people leave behind after they are done playing their chosen games. Unless the player has managed to strike it rich, there is a good chance that they are going to leave the receipt behind. After all, who is going to take the time to bring a receipt for a dollar or a few cents to be cashed out?

Ileana is not about to let all of that money go to waste, though. She makes her way around the casino and diligently collects all of it so that she can cash the receipts in for herself. “Tonight’s grand total after about half an hour was $7.28,” Ileana says. That might not seem like a lot but bear in mind that it is all profit.

Not so fast, though! Casino employees in the comment section let her know that this is actually not something you are supposed to be doing. “They call them ‘ticket miners’ in the security realm and are a target for getting kicked out of the casino,” shared one. Ileana claims that she is well within her right to do so, however.

“Nobody needs to worry, I had my lawyer check into the legality, it wasn’t illegal in the state I was in,” she shared. She went on to say that casinos should be “more concerned about people counting cards or harassing other customers.”

Other commentators shared their tales of woe. “So my SIL picked up a ticket off the floor that was $0.10 and we were immediately surrounded by 4 big security men in suits asking if it was hers,” said one. Where do you stand on this one: harmless fun or something to be avoided?
