Dolly Parton is a national treasure. We all know that. It’s hard not to love her. She’s a true icon.
From bringing us classic country songs we still sing to this day, to appearing in films and TV, to gracing the red carpet with eye-catching fashion, there isn’t anything she can’t do.
Besides being an accomplished entertainer, Parton is also well-regarded for her philanthropy and activism throughout the years. In fact, she is a big reason why there is a rising literacy rate amongst children in Tennessee. And she does it all with a positive attitude and a witty sense of humor.
With that kind of a resume and reputation, it’s hard to imagine that there won’t be a biographic movie made about her at some point in the future. I mean, it’s a golden opportunity just waiting to happen.
But, getting someone to play the legendary Parton wouldn’t be an easy task. Bringing that kind of presence to a movie screen wouldn’t be for just anyone. But it appears that Dolly Parton has already thought about whom she’d like to see portray her in a biopic.
Who shared this news? Drew Barrymore! On her show, Drew recently went on to discuss a variety of topics. But there was one point of discussion that really got people excited, and that was discussing Dolly Parton’s choice for who she’d like to see play her in a movie.

According to Dolly herself, she has a fond respect for the actress and singer, calling her “absolutely fantastic” and if there was ever a biopic about her, she’d want Chenoweth as her first choice.
We don’t know if Chenoweth watches the Drew Barrymore show, but we’d imagine that hearing that you’re Dolly Parton’s first pick must feel like quite something.
