People Are Now Using Lip Fillers To Get ‘Devil Lips’ In Bizarre Beauty Trend

The new cosmetic trend that uses lip-fillers to create a wave pattern has gone viral and experts say it is dangerous, warning people to stop.

We have seen our fair share of trends that come and go over the years. Some of them are interesting, to say the least, and others are bizarre. You might even question if some of them are an Internet hoax, and that is likely how you will feel when you see Devil Lips. They are so unusual looking that you are likely to wonder why anybody would do that to part of their body.

Devil lips are also known as ‘octopus lips’. They are a cosmetic trend that results in waves showing up around the lips.

. #devillips #preenchimentolabial #hyaluronpen #bbglow #camuflagemdeestrias

It seems as if this trend started in Russia but it is now spreading across Europe. Some British users are posting pictures on their Instagram feed. Of course, experts and doctors are sounding the warning that this look should not be attempted.

Experts are labeling the trend as dangerous and nonnatural. In order to create the wave pattern, you will need to use lip fillers.

C H A N G E S . . . . . MARQUE AQUELA PESSOA QUE SEMPRE ACOMPANHA A MODA! 🤣🤣🤣

“You cannot change the anatomical shape of the lips like this. You can sharpen and contour by enhancing the vermillion border, but these “devil lips” are unnatural,” said Dr Krystyna, a London-based Cosmetic Dentist, and Facial Aesthetician.

“Filler injected inappropriately could end up in blood vessels, causing blockages and leading to necrosis (death) of the tissue. The vessels are around the lips, so using filler inappropriately is what can cause this.”

Aderi a moda do bocão, que tal? 😂 . . #NanaFerro #PreenchimentoLabial #BocaCalifornia #RicadeMarre

Some people seem to be interested in replicating this look but others are repulsed by it. There is also another group of people who are still in denial and feel that it is nothing more than a hoax or a Photoshop manipulation.

This trend is WRONG on all levels .. devil lips!? It looks unnatural and ridiculous. The clue is in the title really .. it is unnecessary disfigurement! Wether it is tattooing and/or filler .. it looks terrible. I thought it was photoshop and a joke for Halloween when I first saw it but apparently not. 🤷🏽‍♀️ even if it is photoshop it’s an awful example to put out there for young impressionable people who think it’s real and want to be trendy. Please don’t be naive and follow silly trends like this. You will not be able to reverse it easily and go back to your natural lips if at all. Your lip border will be distorted and it won’t wear off evenly so you will have frilly lips for years to come. There are 20 more reasons I can think of. No one should encourage clients or teach this to practitioners and enable them to disfigure someone elses face deliberately. It’s not make up you can’t wipe it off. I have never even seen an Mua create devil shaped lips from make up unless it was perhaps for an editorial piece. I mean who would even be willing to try it? Was it founded by someone accidentally messing up someone’s lips? Is it just photoshop? I don’t understand where it even comes from? This is really one of the worst aesthetic/cosmetic examples I’ve ever seen 😳 #devillips #wrong

One beauty expert and owner of Dermaspa, Nilam Holmes disagrees with the trend. She posted to Instagram and calls it the worse cosmetic procedure, going so far as to call it ridiculous.

Like all ridiculous trends, this one is eventually going to die a slow death. “There has been a shift in aesthetic style,’” Manhattan dermatologist Anetta Reszko told the New York Post.
