TikTok loves to opine on everyone’s relationships and we have seen what happens when these arguments manage to spill into other forms of social media.

@carsynvsoto is the TikTok user who is sharing this story, which has led to some debate. She and her boyfriend live together and they are very happy with their arrangement. The rest of the internet? Not so much.

They have decided that they would like to sleep in separate beds. We do not see any problem with this but as you would expect, there are plenty of people online who do.

The woman shared on TikTok, “When you and your boyfriend finally move in together and you want separate rooms so you can still have your own space and decorate how you want.”

Of course, her bedroom looks much different from his. There are plants, warm neutrals, and excellent decor choices. His bedroom is blue and exudes much different energy from hers. The video has gotten millions of views and it is easy to see why.

This age old debate has been going on for some time now and we always find it to be fascinating. Some wondered if their partners would go for it. Others knew that it would be foolish for them to even ask.

“I can’t wait for separate rooms. my partner thinks is out of spite. I’m working on it, got a few years before we buy a house to convince him,” said one viewer. “I used to think this was weird until I moved in with mine. Sir, ima need you to move into the room next door,” added another.

Meanwhile, there are others who are speaking about their personal situations with a bit more nuance. “My husband and I have separate spaces to decorate and be ourselves while having a shared bedroom to sleep. Our bedroom is bland cause we just sleep,” one viewer shared. This one makes all of the sense in the world to us, if we are being honest.

The older we get, the more we can understand this mentality. It’s not like you love someone else any less because you do not wish to sleep in the same bed with them. Plus, many partners are on different schedules, so there are plenty of people who already sleep in this type of way.
