Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Many people love to watch their children play outside. It’s one of the best ways to pass the time, especially now that activities are limited due to the global pandemic. Having something for your kids to do while outside is key to keeping them busy and entertained, even if the space in the yard is limited. Sandboxes come in really handy in that regard, as they are a wonderful way to get the little ones outside in the fresh air and keep them happily occupied.

Though they’re great fun, sandboxes are notorious for being absolute pest magnets. And, they’re also sometimes mistaken as a litter box by wandering cats and dogs. Sandboxes tend to get pretty disgusting when they are not properly maintained, to say the least. But, thanks to this incredibly simple hack, you can now eliminate these types of issues going forward.

All you need is some cinnamon and you are all done. That’s right. Grab a cup of cinnamon and mix it in the sandbox. The pests are not going to like it and they will stay away.

Be sure to pass this one along to all of the sandbox owners that you know. Let’s all do our part to keep the pests away from our little ones this summer.
