It was a confetti cake, and it turned out better than most of us would probably think. In fact, as he examined the cake on Instagram and gave a 360° view of it, he simply said “not bad, not bad at all.”

You wouldn’t typically make a full-sized cake in the microwave, but people have been using that kitchen device to make mug cakes for quite some time. Chang didn’t go into details on the container used for creating this microwave cake, but it did look like it was larger than a coffee mug.

According to the caption of his Instagram post, he used a boxed mix he purchased at a store and he loved the way that it turned out. Of course, just because he proved you could make a delicious cake in the microwave doesn’t mean that he will be doing it every time. He even said the next time he needs a cake he’s just going to order it.
