August Dombrow
Developer (Reformed Writer)
August's saga began many hats and at least one magnificent beard ago in the writers' pit of GreaterGood, from which he emerged blinking, clutching a style guide, and vowing to never manually format a headline again. That vow became a career.
Ascending through an improbable sequence of roles, each acquired the traditional way — by being the person standing nearest the problem — he now builds the automation systems behind Great Life Publishing, which is what happens when you leave a writer unsupervised near an API long enough. He describes the work as "writing, but with more error messages."
In his spare time, he also maintains an API for determining whether the Rapture has occurred. It has not. He checks. If he's not behind a keyboard, you'll find him on the ice, in search of his next concussion.
So far, so good.
