Ever since the 1950s when the recipe for Chex mix was first printed on the Chex cereal box, people have been loving this simple snack and all of its variations. While most people are familiar with the savory versions, there are quite a few sweet ones that are just as snack-able as their salty counterparts.
This apple pie snack mix has the wonderful flavors of apple in a sweet and crunchy mixture that is likely to disappear right before your very eyes. It’s a seriously delicious snack to have for parties or even just for Friday night movie night.
To make this mix there isn’t much involved. The hardest part is the very small amount of microwaving you have to do for the mix and to melt the white chocolate. Lay out your mix on a baking sheet, drizzle with the white chocolate, and then wait for it to set before breaking it apart. The taste isn’t the only reason this type of snack mix has been popular for generations- it’s also the low prep time!
In addition to the Chex cereal and white chocolate there’s also some pecans, brown sugar, apple pie spice mix, and some dried apples for a combo that’s got some of the signature flavors of apple pie.
After the chocolate sets simply break up the pieces and you’re ready to serve this crunchy, sweet, perfectly-spiced apple pie Chex mix.
If (and this is a big if) you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container so they stay crispy for the next time you’re craving this yummy treat.
