If you are anything like us, you are constantly trying your best to remove the smudges and smears from your silverware.
No matter how often we wash them, the same issues seem to occur. Fortunately for us, there is now a TikTok hack that is designed to eliminate this problem entirely.
TikTok user @jojo.butterflylove shared the hack after seeing it on TikTok before and she swears by it.
As it turns out, we should have been using tin foil this whole time. It creates a reaction inside of the dishwasher that is sure to have all of your stuff looking like it is brand new.
According to Reader’s Digest, the hack works because of a chemical reaction that takes place, which is something we knew nothing about.
You really do learn something new every day as long as you are open to the idea, though. The chemicals in the detergent will react with the foil’s metal, creating what is known as an ion exchange. In layman’s terms, the tarnishes are removed entirely and the silverware is left looking absolutely wonderful.
We must make one quick note before we get out of your hair, though. This hack is only going to work if you have real silverware. Many of us own stainless steel cutlery and there is nothing wrong with that. However, the last thing that you want is to waste your time trying to remove tarnishes by using a process that is not actually going to work. That’s just our way of looking out for you!
