I always forget how good of an appetizer veggies with dip is until I come across a new recipe for dip and simply have to try it. And, this easy 6-Ingredient Dill Dip is the perfect dip to whip up when you want a starter that’s very fresh and very fast.
One thing I’ve always noticed about packages of pre-made dip mix is that if there are any onions in them you need to wait until they have rehydrated before serving the dip. Served too soon and you may get a crunchy bite of dried onion and some not-so-pleasant burps afterwards.
The simple solution when making a fresh dip is to use a small amount of finely chopped fresh onion. We’re not using a lot, just a tablespoon. It adds tons of flavor without being too much.
There is both sour cream and mayonnaise in this dip. Since we’re not adding very many ingredients the mayo here adds just a bit of tang and richness to this dip.
Using some chopped fresh dill ensures that the taste is super fresh.
Mix it all up and then you’re ready to dip. I like to serve this with veggies and crackers, but I can attest that this dip is wonderful with potato chips, too.
No waiting and no mystery packets, just a classic dill dip that’s easy to prepare and even easier to eat. It disappears rather quickly at parties!
