This “optical illusion” has been going around on TikTok and people are quite perplexed by it. The creator, @hecticnick, is even accused of purposely trying to play tricks on the viewers at home.
The video has since been viewed over half a million times and we can see why. It’s the type of clip that is sure to be watched many times.
If you watch the video, you will see a pyramid that has a black dot located close to the apex. The structure seems to be shaded with a teal coloration and the sky behind it appears to be orange tinted.
“Focus on the black dot in the middle of this pyramid! After a little bit I’m gonna show you the same image but in black and white, although to you it’s going to appear to be in full color,” HecticNick explains to the audience.
From there, the clip changes to a photo of a black and white pyramid. HecticNick then claims that the viewer will be able to see the image in the same manner that they did before, as long as they are willing to blink. Once the viewer blinks, they are supposed to be able to see the video in full color again. Of course, it should not surprise anyone to realize that there was some dissent when it comes to this matter.
People were still seeing black and white, even after they decided to stare at the dot. Was HecticNick merely playing a prank on everyone or was this illusion a legitimate one? Most people in the comments seemed to agree that it was the former – a total joke.
For the few that did believe the illusion was real, they were left in a total panic because they were led to believe that they are colorblind.
