Retail theft has become a major issue and this Target employee is here to share their take on the matter.

Since they are in the belly of the beast, so to speak, it is easy to see why people are paying close attention to what they have to say.

She shared on TikTok that was taking a walk through her section towards the end of a shift when the video was made. It was at this time that she found discarded packaging.

Someone had clearly helped themselves to some free beauty products and left them behind. The employee revealed that she’s used to coming across these types of things on a regular basis.

“This was everything that was stolen in the beauty section today that we found just laying around,” she shares.

She holds up a box that is filled with all sorts of empty packaging, to drive the point home. She picks it all up piece by piece. This gives the audience a feel for what these employees are dealing with on an everyday basis. In this video alone, she provides evidence of various thefts. There are no shortage of products that are being swiped from all of these stores.

We see that people have taken daily facial moisturizer from Cetaphil and a Morphe 2 eyeshadow palette, for starters. From there, we also see that patrons have helped themselves to Vaseline lip gloss, as well as a box of sunless tanning serum from Jergens and even a box of false eyelashes. Of course, the box was empty by the time it was found.

The thieves are bad enough but there were also a number of customers who decided that they were going to use the items and then put them back. That might be even worse. At that point, you might as well just steal the item in question. Otherwise, you are just making life even more difficult for the employees who are going to have to deal with the fallout of this choice.

The comments were divided. While there were some people who were shocked and saddened, there were others who decided that they were okay with the theft.
