Garlic bread is truly one of life’s greatest pleasures. If you don’t agree then I don’t know if we can be friends, or at least not dinner companions. One of the only ways that the almighty garlic bread can be improved upon is by adding cheese. And that’s exactly what we’ve done with these Stuffed Garlic Cream Cheese Rolls. There’s richness from the cream cheese, ooey goodness from mozzarella, and plenty of buttery herb flavor. Pretty much, these rolls are the side dish of our dreams. Let’s get into how they’re made!

Start things out by lightly greasing a 9×13-inch dish with butter. Next up, you’ll separate the Hawaiian rolls and slice an “X” into the top of each one. Using the handle of a spoon or a similar utensil, widen the opening of the “X” making room for all the creamy garlic filling. Line the rolls up in the prepared baking sheet, then get started on the filling.

The filling is made from a mixture of cream cheese, mozzarella, and fresh minced garlic. Once thoroughly combined, it’s piped into each roll until it’s full to the brim. Pour a simple garlic butter sauce over the top and pop those babies in the oven for about 12 minutes. Thankfully it’s a short bake time because your house is about to smell incredible!

Garlic Cream Cheese Rolls
Yield(s): Makes 12 rolls
10m prep time
12m cook time
Ingredients
- 1 package classic Hawaiian rolls
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 7x11-inch baking dish with the 2 tablespoons melted butter.
- Separate rolls and cut an X into the top of each one, careful not to cut through the bottom. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to widen the hole, making room for the filling. Arrange rolls evenly in the baking dish.
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, minced garlic, and 1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning.
- Transfer cream cheese mixture into a piping bag or large ziplock with the corner snipped. Starting at the base of the hole, fill the rolls to the top with the cheese mixture. Alternatively, you can spoon the filling into the rolls, but we’ve found the bag method works best.
- In another small bowl, mix together remaining melted butter, 1 ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Pour butter mixture over rolls.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes. Serve warm.
